My good friend, Eric, is in a photography class at Columbia. For a long while, we’ve been planning to take a photo tour together. We decided to head to Chinatown a few weeks ago for lunch and some shooting. We ate at Lao Szechwan–my favorite Chinatown grub! If you haven’t been, you must.

Let’s start with the chow.

Five Chili Chicken (oh ya, those are all chili peppers):

Then, with full bellies, we went looking for photo-ops.

Everything is so colorful. This is one of my favorite things about ethnic neighborhood:

This one is my favorite. This is a piece of tilework that is on one of the buildings in the neighborhood. So much of the architecture is really ornate and lovely:

This morning, I met Meredith and Bob at the Lincoln Park Zoo. The two of them chose this location because they often take morning walks here. I love, love, love it when a couple chooses a location that means something to them! These two both have such classic good-looks and Meredith’s bright red coat was AMAZING. Here are some sneak peeks from our wonderful shoot.

Bob kept joking that he hopes no one he knows walks by:

I LOVE being the one behind the camera. But, there is a downside to that: I am NEVER in any photographs. If you looked at our vacation albums, you’d assume that poor Sona frequently takes off to the beach all by her lonesome.

Recently, we got together with Christina and David, our very best friends, for a shoot. The goal was for us each to end up with a suitable holiday card. Shooting them was no problem; I was their wedding photographer back in Tennessee! When it came time for mine and Sona’s photos, I set the camera to auto-focus and crossed my fingers! Christina did a pretty good job, dontcha think? We ended up with some great shots (despite the freezing cold and the hurricane winds).

Of course, it always helps to have outstandingly good-looking friends. Here are a few of my favorites:

I won’t tell which photo will make its appearance on our card!
