Today was a BEAUTIFUL day. It was perfect weather for meeting Nikki and Dan at the Brookfield Zoo for their engagement session. They chose this location because that is where they had their first date… and Dan tried to kiss Nikki in the bat cave!

I’ve never been to Brookfield Zoo before and was THRILLED to see all of the options for photos. Such a great location!

Here are some of my favorite shots from the day:

LOVE these two:

HELLO!

There was a wedding happening after the zoo closed. The bride and groom were taking a photo tour, too!

After way too long and way too many bad-weather days, Cassy and Dewey and I met downtown for their engagement shoot. Because it was Easter, they had to meet at noon. I was a little concerned about the light, but the shoot turned out GREAT. Gotta love downtown and all the nooks of shade!

Cassy wore this fabulous red coat and it really set a great tone for the shoot. I love shooting in a more urban landscape and the cherry-colored coat really popped against all of the concrete.

Here are some sneak peeks:

Cassy really gets the “smile with your eyes” thing:

Shooting under this awning was Dewey’s idea. Love the result!

And this was Cassy’s idea. Meant as a joke–but the colors work so well!
