A few of you may remember this sweet face from a portrait session I posted last year. Mr. Dorsey and Mrs. Katie have lived next door to my parents for many years and–because our relatives live so far away–have become our family. We spent many holidays with these two and have grown to love them very much. Today, Mr. Dorsey passed away. Though we will all miss him, I doubt anyone will miss him more than his wife of over 60 years. I wanted to share a couple of the photos I took last November and pay respects to a true Southern gentleman and the lady that loved him.

I was SO excited to shoot at the Adler Planetarium. What a great venue! Despite the threatening thunderstorms and the non-stop wind, it didn’t disappoint. Kimberly and Theo rolled with the weather’s punches and enjoyed a beautiful evening with the best view of Chicago you could possibly hope for (see below). All in all, it was a wonderful day and I’m so glad that I got to be a part of it.

I love lighter suits:

This shot of Kim approaching the aisle (and fighting the wind) may be my favorite of the day:

The guests had 2 great views: Chicago and the happy couple!

I adore this one:

Yes, I do this shot at every wedding. Can’t help it. Nothing else gets this reaction:

One of my favorite cakes EVER:

This candid shot from the first dance is another favorite:

Finaly, the view from the reception:

Erin and Eric’s wedding was shot by David, my wonderful 2nd shooter. However, the photos are so beautiful and the wedding was so stylish, I wanted to post some of the images here. These two are obviously a fun couple that doesn’t take life too seriously. Just my kind of folks! And, did I mention they had both a candy bar and a cotton candy machine at their wedding? Yep. I have to admit it: I’m a little jealous.

A couple months ago, I posted that I was booked until 2011. However, if any of you future couples want to talk with David about shooting your wedding, just let me know and I can pass on his contact information! In the meantime, here is some eye candy.

They chose to do a “First Look”:

This may be the most beautiful bouquet I’ve EVER seen:

Love this candid shot:

And this one:

Group photo sillyness:

End-of-the-night kiss:
