Tis the season of family portraits. Maybe the launching of this new blogsite was bad timing on my part (since I mostly shoot weddings). Though, I really do love the time of year when I can focus on portraits rather than events. Last weekend, I shot some family portraits at North Pond in Lincoln Park. I shot one new family and one family I’ve worked with before. Both were so fun, and I am in love with all of these photographs. Hope that you allĀ get to spend quality time with your families this week!

I shot some photos of David and his beautiful wife before we brought their son over.

How cute is this little guy?

North Pond is a great location for kids. There is lots to play on (and distract them) during photos.

Next, I shot Voni, John and Elliot. Can you believe I shot Voni and John’s wedding a few years ago? Then, I shot Elliot when she was just an itty bitty. Hard to believe!

Could she get any cuter? I don’t think so.

This post marks the end of my third year photographing the wonderful families at Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School. I had a great mix of families I’ve shot several times before and families I met for the first time. As alway, it was an adventure. In 3 days, I shot over 60 kids! Here’s the last round of sneak peeks.

Last weekend, I got to shoot another event for one of the Bernard Zell Anshe Emet Day School families. I’ve worked so much with this community, and it is always nice to show up to an event and see familiar faces. I had a wonderful time photographing Jonah’s Bar Mitzvah. (This family is particularly familiar because I photographed Jaclyn–Jonah’s sister–and her celebration last year.) We started with a few photos at the temple, and then moved on to the party at Whirly Ball. I will admit that I had no idea what Whirly Ball was before this event, but it was fun to find out! This is sincerely one of the kindest families I’ve ever worked with, and–as cliche as it sounds–you really can see how much they love each other. Here are some photos from the big day.

Some family portraits:

Next? Whirly Ball!

Jonah scoring a… goal? Ball? Shot?

And, of course, there were speeches.

(And lots of girly attention.)
