It’s always flattering when another photographer asks me to photograph their family. So, I was super excited when Kimmy from Kimmy Noonen Photography contacted me and asked me to shoot some family portraits with her daughter, who just turned 3!

We met downtown, and spent the hour exploring the Art Institute area, chasing around little Charlotte. That girl can run! 😉

Photographing toddlers can be a challenge. However, like I’ve said before, the key is just not to have any expectations. Let THEM decide what to do and where to go. Luckily, Kimmy knew that was key, too, and she was a great mom to work with!

Here are some sneak peeks!

Gotta love some matching Chucks!

Is little Charlotte a cutie or what?!

Like me, Kimmy is usually BEHIND the camera. So, she really wanted some shots of her and her sweet daughter.

Whitney and Jay were married this past weekend in downtown Chicago. Their ceremony was at Holy Name Cathedral and they had an art deco-inspired reception at the Women’s Athletic Club, a historic venue right on Michigan Avenue.

It was a beautiful and classic wedding day. Jay was one of the sweetest, most emotional grooms I’ve seen, and he got teary-eyed several times during the day. It was very romantic! Of course, I have to post some of those teary photos (sorry, Jay). 😉

Here are some sneak peeks from their day, which hopefully they catch before they jet off to Bali for their honeymoon!

They did a first look on the roof of the WAC, and Jay was blow away by his beautiful bride-to-be!

Then we headed around town for some iconic Chicago shots, starting with these skyline photos at the museum campus.

How gorgeous is the back of this Jenny Packham dress? And that skyline ain’t bad, either!

Next, we hit up the Art Institute gardens–one of my favorite spots in the city!

Could these two be any sweeter?

Whitney has great taste, and I was smitten with her bridesmaids’ sparkly, grey-toned dresses!

As soon as Whitney started walking down the aisle, Jay got choked up.

LOVED the balloons they used for their grand exit!

Even better, Whitney and Jay led ALL of their wedding guests in a balloon parade from Holy Name to the Women’s Athletic Club. I was pretty stoked to capture such a fun–and unique–moment!

The ballroom at the WAC was aglow in classic, vintage charm.

Couldn’t not include a shot of this ice sculpture on the dessert bar–perfect for a couple who met, and got engaged, at Northwestern!

Ironically, the last photo shoot I did before our son was born was this pregnancy announcement for Jessica and Rob! These two were married last year at The Rookery. Their wedding was totally fab.

So, you can imagine how excited I was when they told me they were pregnant and asked me to do a photo shoot that they could use as their announcement! To top it all off, they wanted to do the shoot at Sweet Mandy B’s–one of my favorite spots in Chicago (for both photos AND sweets)!

Here are some shots from our shoot together. These two are going to be such fun, stylish parents, and I can’t wait to meet the little one!
