Before the holiday, I met up with Jenn and Bryan–a couple who I’ve shot with a few times before–for a snowy maternity session. One of my favorite things about clients is when they are willing to just go for it. And, despite the fact that it was FREEZING cold and actively snowing, Jenn wanted to make a go of her maternity photos.
Snowy shoots can be challenging–wet, messy, and COLD. But when a couple is willing to take a chance, they can also be MAGICAL. I think these sneak peeks prove just that.
I’ve been photographing Summer and Eric since I shot their wedding back in 2010. They are always one of my favorite couples. They aren’t only silly and kind and humble, but they also have unbelievable style, and that always comes across in their sessions. (I mean, check out this fall session from a few years ago.)
So, when I found out they were expecting their first babe, not only was I absolutely thrilled for them, personally, but I was also totally stoked for what I knew would be a maternity session for the record books. And, as soon as Summer and I started exchanging game-planning emails–mentioning “Outlander” as inspiration–I knew they were going to rock yet another photoshoot.
Still, as they always do, they surprised me, because they showed up WITH A SWORD. A sword, people! Of course, they have a sword. Cause they take actual sword-fighting classes, a la Arya Stark.
I’m giddy over how fun this shoot was, and I am so happy to be sharing these sneak peeks with you. But I’m even more excited for this little baby who is being born into one of the smartest, most creative, admittedly geeky, and completely down-to-earth families I know!
I shot Jess and Rob’s glamorous wedding at the Rookery a couple of years ago. So, I was super excited to see this duo-turned-trio again in Lincoln Park, recently, for a fall family session.
Their little guy, Marty, is just 9 months old, and he is such a little cutie! I had to work hard to get a smile out of the little guy, but–by the end of the shoot–I was successful!
Here are some sneak peeks from this adorable family.
