As ya’ll probably know, the wedding business slows down a bit during the colder months. Also, I usually take this time of year to have a little time to myself. So, unfortuantely, that makes things a little slow on the blogging front.
I thought this lull was a perfect time for another edition of PHOTO ENVY (me finding photos to drool over on the blogs that I read).
This photo is from the world-famous Jessica Claire. Isn’t it just dreamy? What I really love about this photo is that it is completely styled. It’s intentional. It has purpose and personality. On Jessica’s blog, she talks about how this client showed up with hundreds of oranges! I hope to have some equally unique shoots in 2010.
Do you have an engagement shoot coming up? This is definitely something to think about!
A few weeks ago, I started a new blog feature: Photo Envy! Every now and then, I’ll post images that I wish I would’ve taken myself.
This week’s photos are from a world-famous photographer: Jose Villa. I just couldn’t love these photos more. This engagement shoot has everything: beautiful lighting and styling. Doesn’t it feel more like a high fashion shoot than an engagement shoot? Straight out of an Anthropologie catalog! The pictures feels so earthy and ethereal. AMAZING!
Can someone please buy these clothes, find a river and prance around for me and my camera, too?
The truth is, I probably look at more wedding/photographer blogs than any brides-to-be out there. Really–it’s an obsession. And, like any good researcher, I keep a careful archive of images I love. So, I thought it only fair to share some of my finds. Therefore, I’m introducing a new, regular blog feature…
For this feature, I’ll post images that–for one reason or another–I particularly love. My first P.E. is from Chenin Boutwell; she is one of my favorite photographers. However, as much as I find this photograph beautiful, it is what’s in the photograph that makes me pea green with jealousy. Just LOOK at the colors in this bridal garb. How could you NOT take beautiful photos of these outifts?
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: NOTHING makes more of an impact on your wedding day than color.
