My first wedding of the year is always an exciting one, and Claire and Max were the perfect couple to kick off my 2016 wedding season!

From the second we met, sharing a beer at Hopleaf, one of my favorite neighborhood bars, I knew they’d be great to work with. They kept describing their wedding as a “big party where there happen to be some vows being exchanged.” And that’s exactly what it was!

They got married at the W–Lakeshore this past Saturday. It was one of the wackiest weather days I’ve seen, yet. There was snow. Then rain. Then sunshine. Then snow. Then more rain. Well, you get the idea!

When I arrived, Claire said she didn’t want her day to be “weather dependent.” So, we opted to stay on site for photos, only dashing outside for a quick 10-15 minutes–just the three of us! But those 10-15 minutes were magical! There were snow flurries and near-empty streets. We got a lot of goodness in that short time, and I’m glad they were troopers, willing to take some photos in the freezing cold weather.

Here are some sneak peeks from Claire and Max’s day!

Oh, look! Sunshine!

Claire’s girls were so excited for her. They were a small, sweet bunch!

We managed to score a private suite for a few photos, thanks to Jessie Pare, the W’s wedding coordinator extraordinaire. This suite + Claire’s style = PERFECTION.

I love how vintage chic she looked!

I also love the way Max is looking at his wife-to-be, here.

They wanted to do this silly photo, which they were recreating from a previous moment, and I love that this biker happened by.

Cute AND sexy!

Like everything else, Claire and Max wanted a relaxed, casual approach to photos with their friends and family.

The ceremony, which happened AFTER everyone had enjoyed cocktail hour, was impromptu but intimate.

…and funny.

I love this sweet moment with the couple and some close friends, one of whom officiated their ceremony.

The reception was basically one long concert. Max is a musician and had friends do the entertainment. There were TWO bands–and a DJ! Everyone had a blast.

As I’ve mentioned before, I have an Etsy shop where I sell prints from my travels. I love sharing photographs from my adventures!

This week, I’ve added a new product to my shop: graphic prints! I’ve always loved words as much as I love photographs, and I’m a life-long quote collector. So, it seemed only natural to combine my two loves.

Are you in need of some inspiration? Some eye candy? Relief from wanderlust? Or just some wall art? Then, head over to my shop and check out these new prints!

Here are some of the available prints, combining my favorite images and words:

It was easy for me to decide what I wanted to share for my next “Things I Adore” post: Pinterest! I have only been a member of this site for a couple of weeks, and I’m already obsessed. You know how some people check Facebook 20 times a day (even when they’re at work)? Well, I can be caught pinning just as much.

You see, Pinterest really feeds into all of the things I love. It’s like a virtual pin board. If you see something you like, you pin it. And you can have several boards going at once. Currently, I have a board for quotes I love, a board for places I want to visit, a board for home decorating inspiration… well, you get the idea. If you love looking at pretty things and daydreaming even half as much as I do, you must check this site out.

One of my favorite uses for Pinterest is to keep track of photos that inspire me. Sometimes it’s the light, sometimes it’s the styling, sometimes I don’t even know what it is–these are just photos that I love. This is a great place for my clients to get ideas, too! I would love for a couple to say, “We saw this photo on your Pinterest board and would love to try it.”

Photo Inspiration Board:

Pinterest is also an amazing resource for couples planning their wedding. It is so easy to make an inspiration board! I’ve even started my own dream wedding board. Why not? This is the perfect way to make sure your wedding is cohesive and built around a story. (BTW: Yes–my story is Marie-Antoinette-eats-cotton-candy-while-petting-bunnies.)

Wedding Board:

Go ahead. Give Pinterest a try. I dare you not to adore it, too!
