As most of you know from my Facebook updates, I just returned from a vacation in Paris. In fact, I’m still getting over my jet lag and I’ve already said “bonjour” twice by accident. What can I say? You spend a week in Paris, and it is hard to come back.

Paris was great for a lot of things. Sona and I were able to spend some much-needed quality time (she’s in anesthesia school and constantly busy, too). I was able to disconnect from all of my work (hence the unanswered emails). And, maybe most importantly, I was able to refuel creatively; I remembered how much fun it is to walk around aimlessly–in a beautiful city, nonetheless–and take pictures.

At the risk of sounding like a boring uncle flipping through vacation slides, here is the first of three posts about Paris. I hope you don’t mind my taking time out of wedding chat to share some vacation pictures. In about a month, I will be launching a brand new website. Some of these photos will be part of a special project that will be launched with my new site. Stay tuned!

A shot from the metro.

We woke up to this view each morning. Talk about feeling blessed.

Mostly, we just sat around cafes and ordered a cafe creme (or twenty).

Of course, I was mostly interested in the food.

We stayed near Rue Cler–a very famous market street.

Have you been to Paris? If so, you’ve heard of Berthillon ice cream. It is literally the best ice cream in the world. I’d move to Paris just to eat it. True story.

Of course, the architecture was beautiful, too.

I loved the homes along the Seine river.

Every place you look in Paris, you see a photograph.
