July 13, 2011   |   wedding

Meredith and Brian were married this past weekend at Cafe Brauer–a beautiful venue in the Lincoln Park Zoo. They incorporated many Jewish traditions into their ceremony, and I had a blast shooting all of the little rituals–many of which I had never seen! The greatest thing about all of the ceremonies is that they created a day packed full of emotional moments.

This is another couple that is just a joy to be around. I can’t describe Meredith any other way than by saying she is a light. She has an infectious, beautiful smile and you can’t help but be happy when you’re around her. And Brian is such a calm and gentle presence. They really balance each other out in the best possible way.

I hope they love these photos as much as I loved taking them. It was an unforgettable day (and this is coming from a gal that goes to A LOT of weddings).

**I have to give a big shout-out to Anika from Anika Kai Events! I don’t mention vendors often. If I do, it’s because they were extra special, and Anika was an AWESOME coordinator.  Also, thanks to Kathleen Thame for 2nd shooting during part of the day!**

Meredith got ready in an awesome suite at the Drake. Check out this view!

Yeah–she’s a total beauty.

Love this shot of Meredith’s sister fixing her dress.

I have to say… this may have been my favorite first look EVER. They chose to have friends and family present, and everyone was emotional.

One of my all-time favorite series.

Before we headed to the zoo, we took a couple of quick shots on Michigan Ave.

Next, we did portraits around LP Zoo.

I have no idea what caused these strange flares. It only occurs in 2 photos in a series of like 20, but I love it.

We headed to Cafe Brauer for the ketubah signing.

Right as the Rabbi pronounced them married!

Then, the guys and gals separated for a bit. Finally, the guys came back in a processional.

And there was a veiling. LOVE how Meredith is looking at Brian in this shot.

After the veiling, Meredith went around and gave all of her bridesmaids a blessing under her veil.

Finally, it was time for the main ceremony!

How cute are these guest cards?

The hora kicked off the reception!

And, of course, no one enjoyed it more than these two.

Wow. Although it is no surprise, I am completely blow away by the way Danielle captured our Big Day. Danielle was a joy to be with and around and she is so sweet and cool, I would have wanted her in my bridal party but we did need her to take the pics..errr…. In all seriousness, though, Danielle is amazing at her craft. She is a gifted photographer and a warm, wonderful person. I can’t imagine there is a better person out there to capture your wedding day or other special event. Danielle – a million thanks!
