This evening, I drove to Frankfort, IL to meet Dana and Eric for their engagement shoot. These two are familiar faces. Last year, I shot Leah and Brian’s wedding. Leah is Dana’s big sister.
So, I was excited to be shooting with them and even more excited when Dana told me that she’d like to do photos with her horse, Winston. A horse? A red barn? Cowboy boots? Count me in! This city mouse made her way out to the country. It’s so nice to shoot somewhere new. Chicago is an amazing city, but I sometimes run low on inspiration when I’m asked to shoot in the same spots again and again.
Needless to say, I had no problem being inspired by what I saw when I entered the equestrian club. This is one of my favorite shoots that I’ve done in a long, long time. And it helps that Dana and Eric are such amazingly nice people.
We had to sneak their pup into a few shots, too!
A girl and her horse. BEAUTIFUL. (Winston is an old racing horse and was set for a not-so-nice future before he was rescued by Dana’s trainer!)
Winston was SO good. Seriously. He was easier than photographing some clients. 😉
LOVE this one.
Oh, Eric. You may be one of my all-time favorite grooms-to-be. You, your beer and your belt buckle!
A couple of those beers, and Eric was playing art director. He posed this shot. Should I hire him or what?
