This past week, Emily and Randy got married. Their ceremony was at Chicago Sinai and the reception was at Brookfield Zoo. They did a first look, which allowed for some portraits before the ceremony. Then, just like when I shot there before, the zoo coordinator met us with a golf cart and took us on a photo tour. Though, I don’t think it was the kind of tour he was used to. Instead of taking photos by the exhibits, the gardens and all the usual spots, we asked for things that “maybe wouldn’t be considered pretty.” He kept saying, “I’ve never had anyone take photos at this location.” Exactly. Emily and Randy are a wonderfully unique couple and they–just like all of my clients–deserve wonderfully unique photos. I think we got some beautiful shots (even though we didn’t try to make them pretty).
Emily’s girls were watching her get ready:
Isn’t she beautiful?
LOVE this photo of Emily showing off her dress for the first time.
I was with the guys for a bit, too. One of the groomsmen wanted to celebrate the holiday.
A few from the ketubah and the ceremony:
There is something I love about this one.
This yellow was so fun!
A very zoo-appropriate (and adorable) cake:
And a very happy first dance:
