I shot Farrah and Gabe’s engagement session earlier today. And, as luck would have it, today just happened to be the most beautiful Chicago day 2011 has seen. It was 85 degrees and sunny during their shoot!
When Farrah and I were talking about locations for the shoot, she mentioned several iconic Chicago locations. I knew that, of the places she chose, the Kinzie St. bridge would provide the most flexibility. We’d be able to get those gorgeous skyline shots that she wanted so much, but we’d also be able to find some spots that weren’t as popular. And we did! I really love shooting in urban places–especially when that scenery is juxtaposed with a glam dress and some heels. Luckily, Farrah and Gabe were as excited about the peeling paint as they were about the city’s skyline. That’s my kind of couple!
In addition to lovely weather, we were also lucky enough to have some gorgeous light. They don’t call the hour before sunset the “golden hour” for nothing. All of these things (but, mostly, Farrah and Gabe) made for an awesome shoot. Here are some photos to prove it.
Their colorful outfits really helped brighten the shots!
I love it when a couple can make each other laugh so easily.
Here’s that skyline we all love so much. (We live in the best city in the world, don’t we?)
And that stunning light. (Speaking of stunning… FARRAH!)
