On Saturday, I got to shoot the wedding of one of my favorite couples: Kathleen and Mark. They were married in Oak Lawn and had their reception at Dinolfo’s in Mokena. Though the day started off with blue skies and sunshine, weather forecasts were promising severe storms. We refused to believe it! However, in the middle of the ceremony, lights flickered and a window blew up. Turns out, the weather channel was right (for once). Since we were supposed to be doing photos–outside–right after the ceremony, they were a little worried. I told them not to worry, suggested we make our way to the reception early and keep our fingers crossed that we’d get some sun. Sure enough, as soon as we pulled into Dinolfo’s, the sun came out. We pulled their trolley to the back parking lot and did all of the portraits there. These two were all smiles the whole time. Proof that if you stay calm and are flexible, good photos can happen anywhere.
I also got to work with some of my favorite vendors. Jake Poehls shot with me, Jj Kim of Orange Wedding Films did video and the fabulous Sonia Roselli did Kate’s make-up. It sure is good to see familiar faces on a wedding day.
Jake started the day with the boys getting ready and I was with the girls.
Kate loves photography. I caught HER taking some photos, too.
Love this photo of Kate coming downstairs to show everyone her dress for the first time.
A couple shots from the ceremony:
Jake caught this one:
Another great shot by Jake:
They had a HUGE wedding party. LOVE this one.
Love this couple!
Great series from the reception introductions.
And, finally, a couple dance shots that I think are SO romantic.
