I just shot Sarah and Neil’s engagement session a couple of hours ago. But, since I have a wedding tomorrow and wouldn’t be able to work on their photos, I wanted to get their sneak peeks up tonight!
These two emailed me this week and told me they’d like to shoot near the Kinzie St. bridge. Like so many other couples, they wanted to make sure and get some shots with iconic Chicago landmarks. As a photographer living in this amazing city, I have to admit that I’ve shot at many of these iconic spots a gazillion times. I mean, I’ve probably been at the Kinzie St. bridge 10 times in the past year. So, my challenge is always to keep myself inspired–to try something new. I don’t want every set of photos to look the same! It can be challenging to do that at these popular city spots.
When Sarah showed up in that dress, I knew we’d be just fine. How can a photographer not be inspired by that much fun? And these two–while they wanted a few good skyline shots–were up for experimenting. Even when Neil was understandably confused when we started walking away from the beautiful city view and towards some rusty warehouse doors, Sarah said, “Don’t worry! They’ll be good!” They both trusted me, and that is SO important.
I hope Neil looks at these photos and becomes a rusty door lover, too.
I love how they’re looking at each other in this one.
Of course, we spent plenty of time on the bridge.
