Whitney and Jay were married this past weekend in downtown Chicago. Their ceremony was at Holy Name Cathedral and they had an art deco-inspired reception at the Women’s Athletic Club, a historic venue right on Michigan Avenue.
It was a beautiful and classic wedding day. Jay was one of the sweetest, most emotional grooms I’ve seen, and he got teary-eyed several times during the day. It was very romantic! Of course, I have to post some of those teary photos (sorry, Jay). 😉
Here are some sneak peeks from their day, which hopefully they catch before they jet off to Bali for their honeymoon!
They did a first look on the roof of the WAC, and Jay was blow away by his beautiful bride-to-be!
Then we headed around town for some iconic Chicago shots, starting with these skyline photos at the museum campus.
How gorgeous is the back of this Jenny Packham dress? And that skyline ain’t bad, either!
Next, we hit up the Art Institute gardens–one of my favorite spots in the city!
Could these two be any sweeter?
Whitney has great taste, and I was smitten with her bridesmaids’ sparkly, grey-toned dresses!
As soon as Whitney started walking down the aisle, Jay got choked up.
LOVED the balloons they used for their grand exit!
Even better, Whitney and Jay led ALL of their wedding guests in a balloon parade from Holy Name to the Women’s Athletic Club. I was pretty stoked to capture such a fun–and unique–moment!
The ballroom at the WAC was aglow in classic, vintage charm.
Couldn’t not include a shot of this ice sculpture on the dessert bar–perfect for a couple who met, and got engaged, at Northwestern!
