This past weekend, Youngmie and Peter were married at The Rookery in downtown Chicago. I’ve heard how awesome this venue was, and now I understand what all the hype is about. The Rookery is a GORGEOUS historic Chicago landmark. And with the great architectural elements coupled with great light, it’s a photographer’s dream location.
Another wonderful part of this wedding was the team of vendors that I had the pleasure to work with, especially Beth with SQN Events. Working with a good team of vendors can make or break an event with a photographer and, despite there being a couple of hiccups in Youngmie and Peter’s day, things went so smoothly.
Youngmie and Peter were a lovely couple to work with. I hope they loves these sneak peeks!
One of the quietest moments of a wedding day is when I take the bride or groom a card from their soon-to-be-spouse. It’s also one of the most intimate moments.
Youngmie got her girls adorable tote bags filled with goodies. Clearly, they loved them.
I love how many hands there are in this photo. It takes a village, right?
Youngmie and Peter elected to have a first look, and the hallway at the JW Marriott provided so much drama. Loved this space!
Aren’t they gorgeous?
Youngmie was stunning!
The girls wanted to hold Peter (just like the guys held Youngmie). I LOVE this series.
We had to do a photo on the stairs of the Rookery building.
Youngmie got very emotional during the father/daughter dance. I think these images are so sweet.
Of course, her dad had a tissue ready.
Things picked up rather quickly when her uncle decided to perform his traditional wedding routine: “Crank That.” As a surprise, the bridal party learned the routine and were his backup dancers!
